Fans of two championship teams will converge as Northwest Missouri State University sponsors Northwest Night at the K on Thursday, May 26, at Kauffman Stadium, home of the 2015 World Champion Kansas City Royals.
The Northwest Alumni Association will host, giving fans opportunities to take pictures with Bobby Bearcat and Northwest’s 2015 NCAA Division II National Championship football trophy. Fans also are encouraged to wear their Northwest gear.
Ticket packages are $55 for Hy-Vee Box Section 402 seating and include a tailgate ticket, game ticket and commemorative hat.
Everyone with a Northwest ticket receives a tailgate meal that will include grilled hot dogs, cheeseburgers, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, cookies and soft drinks. The Northwest tailgate begins at 5 p.m. at the Hall of Fame Pavilion, located on the west side of Kauffman Stadium.
“The Northwest Alumni Association is thrilled to host a night where alumni and friends can come together to celebrate the Bearcats’ football championship and the Royals’ World Series championship,” Bob Machovsky, Northwest’s director of alumni relations and annual giving, said. “Northwest Night at K will be a very special night, and we hope to see many Bearcats come out to help us celebrate our teams’ accomplishments during the past year.”
The game is the first night of a four-game series versus the Chicago White Sox. Northwest Night at the K also coincides with Buck Night, a Royals promotion that allows fans to enjoy hot dogs and peanuts for $1 each.
The deadline to purchase ticket packages is Thursday, May 19, or while supplies last. Tickets may be picked up beginning at 4:30 p.m. on the night of the game at the green Northwest Alumni Association tent, located outside of the stadium’s Hall of Fame Pavilion.
Fans who already have tickets to the game and want to attend the tailgate should contact the Northwest Alumni House at 660.562.1248 for details.
