Northwest Missouri State University’s Blue Key and Cardinal Key honor societies on Friday, April 10, crowned Hayston Wilson as this year’s Tower King and Erin Nugent as the Tower Queen.

The Tower King and Queen is organized annually by Blue Key and Cardinal Key and selected from a group of Northwest students who excel academically while exhibiting high involvement at Northwest and in the Maryville community. Campus organizations nominate one king and one queen, who then participate in an application and interview process resulting in the selection of candidates to fill the Tower court. The king and queen are selected by the student body.

“Each one of these candidates exemplifies what it means to be a Northwest student,” Tim Hannah, chair of the Tower King and Queen program for Blue Key. “Each of them are well-rounded individuals who have achieved academic success and work tirelessly outside the classroom to better the community here at Northwest.”

Wilson is a senior psychology major from Mound City, Missouri. He is active with the Wesley Center, Campus Crusade for Christ, National Honor Society of Collegiate Scholars, Sigma Tau Delta and serves as a peer advisor. He was sponsored by Alpha Sigma Alpha.

Erin Nugent is a senior dietetics major from Shawnee, Kansas. She is active in Sigma Kappa, Northwest Student Dietetic Association, KONu Honor Society and served as Greek Week philanthropy chair and Homecoming royalty chair. She was sponsored by Phi Sigma Kappa.
