Northwest Missouri State University alumnus Ben Nuelle, an agricultural journalist with the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network, received the Doan Award March 14 from the National Association of Farm Broadcasting at Agriculture Day ceremonies in Washington, D.C.
Nuelle was cited for his series, “Buried to the Neck,” about a Missouri farmer who was covered with corn and trapped in a grain bin.
Nuelle graduated from Northwest in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in mass media and an emphasis in multimedia journalism.
The Doan Award, named for veteran farm broadcaster Stewart Doan, is the highest honor presented by the farm broadcasting association.
