    Northwest reports death of student

    Northwest Missouri State University is mourning the loss of one of its students.

    Haily Hayes was reported dead Sunday morning after she was found in her residence on campus. She was a freshman business management major from Oak Grove, Missouri, and a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority.

    A funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, at First Baptist Church in Oak Grove, Missouri. A complete obituary is available by clicking here.

    The Northwest community gathered with Hayes' family Monday night in the the J.W. Jones Student Union Ballroom to share memories of Haily.

    The death is under investigation by the Nodaway County coroner’s office, Maryville Public Safety and University Police.

    No foul play is suspected at this time.
