National championship travel, ticket options available for Bearcat football fans

Travel, ticket and celebration package information has been announced for Northwest Missouri State University fans attending the 2015 NCAA Division II Football National Championship Game Saturday, Dec. 19, in Kansas City, Kansas.

Kickoff between the Northwest Bearcats and Shepherd is at 3 p.m. at Sporting Park. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2. Complete game information and details will be available at www.bearcatsports.com. Fans also may catch the play-by-play action through the Bearcat Radio Network or online internet webcast.

Watch parties also are being organized throughout the country by alumni and Northwest Alumni Association chapters. Fans are encouraged to check the Northwest website and the Northwest calendar as watch parties are being added daily.

Ticket information

Northwest's on-campus allotment of football championship tickets is sold out.

Remaining tickets may be purchased online at www.ncaa.com/tickets or www.ticketmaster.com. Prices may vary.

All sales are final. Lost or stolen tickets will not be replaced.

 

Travel options

The Northwest Alumni Association is offering a bus package for $40 per person that includes transportation to and from Sporting Park and the tailgate meal. The cost does not include a game ticket.

Busses will depart Maryville at 9 a.m. from the parking lot west of College Park. Busses will stop in St. Joseph at East Hills Malls in the parking area between Dillard’s and the St. Joseph Library. The busses are scheduled to arrive at Sporting Park about 11 a.m. and depart after the postgame celebration.

Make reservations online at www.nwmissouri.edu/championship, by contacting the Northwest Alumni Association at 660.562.1248 or stop by the Alumni House during regular office hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reservations must be made by noon Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Bus and tailgate tickets will be available for season ticket holders, Booster Club members, parents of current football student-athletes and current Northwest students to purchase between noon and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, at the Student Services Center in the Administration Building or by calling 660.562.1212.

 

Pregame tailgate and rally

In conjunction with Saturday’s championship game, the Northwest Alumni Association, is sponsoring a pregame tailgate and rally for all Bearcat fans.

The free tailgate begins at 11 a.m. at the Sprint Plaza, located on the west side of Sporting Park. A meal will be available for $15 with a menu that includes hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, chips, cookies and a beverage. Purchase a meal ticket by contacting the Alumni House at 660.562.1248 or order online at www.nwmissouri.edu/championship.

Tailgating also is permitted in the general admission parking lots, beginning at 11 a.m.

Fans will receive a souvenir rally towel, and the Bearcat Marching Band and Northwest cheerleaders will perform.

Fans also are encouraged to greet and cheer on the Bearcat football team when it arrives at 12:30 p.m.

Stadium gates will open two hours prior to kickoff for suite holders and 90 minutes before kickoff for all other ticket holders.

                                                                               

NCAA Pep Rally

The NCAA will sponsor an official championship game pep rally at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at the Power and Light District in downtown Kansas City. The rally will feature performances by the Bearcat Marching Band, Steppers, Cheerleaders and more.
