Members of the Northwest Missouri State University community can help make the holiday season special for people in need by purchasing a holiday gift through the Panhellenic Council’s annual Angel Tree drive.
The Angel Tree campaign, now in its 18th year at Northwest, provides holiday gifts to disadvantaged children, lower income families and senior citizens throughout the Maryville area. Paper angels inscribed with gift suggestions are available to select from a Christmas tree at Northwest’s Office of Student Involvement on the second floor of the J.W. Jones Student Union.
After picking an angel, donors – individuals or groups – purchase the gifts and bring them in gift-wrapped packages, with the angel attached, to the Office of Student Involvement by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9.
Members of the University’s Greek community deliver the gifts to local social service agencies, which make sure the packages reach the intended recipients in time for Christmas.
The Panhellenic Council is the administrative and governing body of Northwest’s five sororities. The organization works to foster a supportive environment that values scholarship, service and personal growth through a unified sisterhood.
