Artwork by northwest Missouri high school students recently adorned the walls of Northwest Missouri State University’s St. Joseph Center as part of the fifth annual art competition sponsored by Congressman Sam Graves, who represents the Sixth Congressional District of Missouri, and Northwest Outreach.
A panel of artists, in coordination with Northwest Professor of Art Phillip Laber, selected the following winners of this year’s contest:
The contest participants were honored at a reception at the Northwest St. Joseph Center Feb. 19, where Graves presented the awards. As the first place winner, Balke receives two round-trip tickets to Washington, D.C., to attend a ceremony with other winners from across the United States and see her artwork displayed in the Cannon Tunnel in the U.S. Capitol.
The Northwest St. Joseph Center offers graduate degree and certificate programs including education programs ranging from master’s, education specialist and education doctorate degrees, as well as a Master of Business Administration.
