Northwest investigating possible gas leak

Northwest Missouri State University Facility Services staff members were conducting preventative maintenance work today when they detected a possible gas leak at about 8:30 a.m. in the area of The Station.

As a precaution, The Station, a conference center and dining facility, was evacuated and gas lines to two nearby residence halls, Phillips and Millikan, were turned off. About 250 students reside in Millikan; Phillips is unoccupied and not in use this fall.

The Station reopened at about 10:30 a.m. P.O.D. Market will open during its regular business hours, beginning at 4 p.m., but Papa John’s will remain closed until further notice.
