Northwest Missouri State University’s Phi Mu sorority will host a dance marathon to raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network, the sorority’s national philanthropy.
The event will be 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, in Bearcat Arena. The Northwest community may register to participate by visiting http://events.dancemarathon.com/ and locating the Northwest event, or by clicking here. Online registration is $10 and includes a T-shirt; participants also may register at the event for $15 and receive a T-shirt or for $5 for the dance only.
Participants may collect donations up to the day of the event. Each registrant will be considered a dancer and is invited to spend six hours on their feet in celebration of the total amount of funding raised.
The event also will feature miracle family visits, face painting, Zumba, photo booths and crafts along with other games and activities.
Dance Marathon is a nationwide movement involving college and high school students at more than 250 schools across the country to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network hospital nearest to each marathon location.
Phi Mu is seeking to involve at least 300 participants and raise as much as $15,000 for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals, event organizers said. Phi Mu will donate all proceeds from the marathon directly to Children’s Miracle Network.
