Dr. Matt Symonds, associate professor of health and physical education and chair of the Department of Health and Human Services at Northwest Missouri State University, presented a poster session at the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) conference Oct. 15-18 in Las Vegas with Dr. William Russell, associate professor of health, physical education, and recreation at Missouri Western State University.
Their poster presentation was titled “A retrospective examination of youth athletes sport motivation and motivational climates across specialization status.”
Both Symonds and Russell are past presidents of the Missouri Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
Symonds joined Northwest in 1996, and his academic interests include trends and issues in sport and mental preparation and sport performance.
