Sept. 23, 2014
Bo Burnham, a comedian and singer/songwriter, will perform at Northwest Missouri State University at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, in the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts.
Northwest students may purchase tickets for $5, beginning Wednesday, Sept. 24. Tickets for the public will be available for $10, beginning Wednesday, Oct. 1, at the Student Services Center on the first floor of the Administration Building.
Burnham became an internet sensation as a teenager when he started posting videos on YouTube while living in his parents’ attic. Since then, his videos have gained more than 125 million views and he has nearly 800,000 YouTube subscribers. With two Comedy Central specials under his belt, Burnham was the youngest person to release a “Comedy Central Presents” at the age of 18. He is one of the most in-demand college acts on tour today.
As a talented writer and actor, Burnham created, wrote and starred in his own MTV show, “Zach Stone is Gonna Be Famous.” The show aired during the summer of 2013, and he released his first book, titled “EGGHEAD: Or, You Can’t Survive on Ideas Alone,” later that year. The New York Times best-seller consists of a strange but charming collection of hilarious poetry, writing and illustration.
Recently, Burnham released a comedy special on Netflix and YouTube called “What,” which gained more than 2 million views in its first month. In addition to being on the road, Burnham is working on a motion picture project with Paramount Studios.
