Two Northwest Missouri State University faculty members, along with four undergraduate students, presented their work on a collaborative learning project at the ninth annual Critical Questions in Education Conference Oct. 14-15 in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Nancy Foley, associate professor of professional education, and Shantel Farnan, instructor of professional education, along with former Northwest faculty member Vicki Seeger, co-presented about a collaboration activity at the University that involved regular education and special education pre-service teachers during the last three trimesters.
Northwest dual elementary education and special education majors Cynthia Aucker, BreeAnn Belding, Alyssa Franchett and Katie Whelan also participated in the presentation.
The students were enrolled in elementary education or special education methods courses that incorporated the collaboration project, which involved the elementary preservice teachers delivering instruction to students at Eugene Field Elementary School. The collaboration focused on meeting the instructional and behavioral needs of all students, and the preservice teachers collaborated either in face-to-face meetings or online communication.
