SAC comedy series to feature ‘Comedy Central on Campus’

A trio of stand-up comedians will take center stage at Northwest Missouri State University and add to the excitement of the University’s Homecoming week as the Student Activities Council hosts “Comedy Central on Campus.”

The show, featuring Adam Ray, Todd Barry and Thomas Dale begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts.

Tickets are free for students and $5 for the public. Tickets are available at the Student Services Center, located on the first floor of the Administration Building, or at the door.

Adam Ray is an actor, writer and comedian born and raised in Lake Forest Park, Wash. He was recently seen in the Paul Feig summer comedy “The Heat” opposite Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. Ray also has guest starred on television’s “Two Broke Girls,” “Workaholics,” “Arrested Development,” “According to Jim” and Adult Swim’s “NTSF: SD:SUV.”

In addition to his guest television and movie appearances, his popular web videos are frequently featured on FunnyOrDie and Youtube. Ray will also be featured as a stand-up on Comedy Central’s upcoming series “Adam Devine’s House Party.”

Todd Barry is a New York City-based comedian and actor. He is widely recognized for his role as the bongo-playing third conchord on HBO’s “Flight of the Conchords” and Mickey Rourke’s deli boss in 2009 Oscar winner “The Wrestler.”

Renowned for his original approach and deadpan self-deprecation, Barry has had multiple stand-up appearances on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and two “Comedy Central Presents” specials.  He has been heard on both “The Howard Stern Show” and “The Bob and Tom Show.”  In addition, one of his albums, 2001’s “Medium Energy,” was declared one of the best comedy albums of the decade.

Thomas Dale is a stand-up comedian, writer and actor recognized as one of the fasted rising talents in the United States. He has been winning audiences over with his cute brutal honesty to today’s stories.

In 2012, he made his late night debut on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” and has since become a regular performer on “Chelsea Lately.”  He also has appeared on MTV’s “New Year’s Eve Bash” in 2011, and in 2007 he was named best comedian after performances at “The New York Comedy Festival” and “The Bamboozle Music Festival.”

The mission of the Student Activities Council is to plan and administer activities for Northwest students, in order to contribute to a more well-rounded social, recreational and cultural life for the campus and community.  SAC provides entertaining alternatives to students with late night activities and events throughout the year including concerts, lectures, movies and comedians.
