The Northwest Missouri State University Board of Regents during its regular meeting Thursday, June 27, unanimously approved the University’s FY14 budget, which includes the Education & General (E&G) Budget and the Auxiliary Enterprises Budget, totaling $108.2 million.
The total budget continues a budget process that is part of a multiyear approach built upon past budget changes including operational efficiencies and investments in people and plant. It includes an appropriation increase of 3.2 percent and addresses mandatory expense increases and a continued focus on cost-of-living adjustments for employees.
Northwest President Dr. John Jasinski said the budget represents Northwest’s focus on access, affordability, quality and overall peer-leading student success indicators. Additionally, he said the budget was designed through a collaborative effort across the institution and reflects Northwest’s financially strengthened position over the last four years of budget cycles.
In other business, the Board approved revisions to the University’s Faculty Handbook and approved the renewal of an agreement between Northwest and the Northwest Foundation, which oversees and manages private donations in support of the University.
The Board of Regents is responsible for sound resource management of the University and determining general, educational and financial policies.
