Northwest Missouri State University will host two summer camps to help middle and high school students develop their dance and musical talents.
The middle and high school Choir and Band Camp Sunday, June 16, through Friday, June 21, will give students the opportunity to balance musical and educational experiences. Campers will take lessons on the instrument of their choice, attend classes on music theory and composition and play in a band composed of other campers.
The camp costs $395 for campers who will live on the Northwest campus during the week or $330 for day-campers. The deadline for payment and online or mail-in application is Friday, May 24. For more information, visit www.northwestmusiccamp.com.
Marching Auxiliaries (M.A.) Dance Camp will also take place on Northwest campus Wednesday, July 17, through Friday, June 19. This camp is designed to build dancers’ self-esteem, confidence and desire to perform. Campers will be offered nine dance styles at five different skill levels, private practices with M.A. Dance staff members and daily teambuilding activities. For more information or to register, go to www.madance.com.
In addition, Northwest will host a variety of athletic camps beginning in June and continuing through August. For more information on specific athletic camps, go to www.bearcatsportscamps.com.
