Kyle Lindenmeyer, a senior interactive digital media: visual imaging major from Bedford, Iowa, submitted the winning entry for the 2013 “Take the Challenge” Computer User’s Guide Cover Art Contest sponsored by the Office of Information Systems in cooperation with the Center of Information and Technology in Education (CITE) and the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Northwest Missouri State University.
The annual cover art contest aims to draw attention to the User's Guide, which provides students with information about campus computing resources, guidelines and policies, and the contest gives students professional experience in the design field, which they can use to enhance their portfolios and résumés.
Lindenmeyer’s design will be featured on the cover of the 2013-2014 Computer User's Guide, which is given to all incoming students during Northwest’s Advantage Week and select faculty and staff. The current guide also is available online by clicking here.
Lindenmeyer receives a prize package that includes a certificate of accomplishment along with a USB flash drive. Lindenmeyer also will have his name listed on the back cover of the Computer User’s Guide and receive two cover flats and two finished copies of the User’s Guide for his portfolio.
Fourteen submissions to the contest came from students of Associate Professor of Art Craig Warner, who included production of the cover into his course curriculum. The submissions were critiqued and voted on by a panel of judges that included representatives from the local and campus community, including the departments of Fine and Performing Arts and Information Systems.
