Northwest Missouri State University is one of 55 sites throughout the state hosting FAFSA Frenzy to assist future and current college students who are seeking assistance with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
The FAFSA is the first step all students must take to obtain financial assistance to attend college. The Northwest event will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, in Colden Hall Room 1200. Parking is available in the faculty lot on the northeast corner of the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building.
Personnel from Northwest's student financial aid office will be on hand to answer questions and assist students and families with completing the FAFSA online.
Students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA as early as possible, but certainly by April 1 for timely consideration for financial aid. Student and families do not need to have filed their federal income taxes for 2012 in order to participate in a FAFSA Frenzy event or to complete the FAFSA.
Participants are asked to bring:

Students who attend a FAFSA Frenzy event will be entered into a statewide drawing to win a scholarship. Scholarship funds are being provided by the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority and by the Missouri Association of Student Financial Aid Personnel. All students receive gift bags with helpful information for planning and paying for college.
FAFSA Frenzy is a program of College Goal SundaySM and is offered in Missouri through partnerships between the Missouri Department of Higher Education (MDHE) with the Missouri Association of Student Financial Aid Personnel (MASFAP), the Lumina Foundation for Education, and the YMCA. The College Goal SundaySM program was created by the Indiana Student Financial Aid Association (ISFAA), with funding from Lilly Endowment, Inc., and with supplemental support from the Lumina Foundation for Education.
FAFSA Frenzy events help students and their parents submit accurate financial information that is used to determine student eligibility for need-based student aid. The FAFSA is the primary application used by federal, state, and institutional financial assistance entities in determining an individual's eligibility for grants, loans, work-study, and scholarships. For information about the Northwest event contact the Office of Scholarships and Financial Assistance by calling 660.562.1363 or by email at email@example.com.
