The Student Senate at Northwest Missouri State University is sponsoring a three-day blood drive in cooperation with the Community Blood Center to boost blood supplies in northwest Missouri.
The blood drive will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29; Thursday, Jan. 31; and Friday, Feb. 1; in the Tower View Room, located on the third floor of the J.W. Jones Student Union. Donors will receive a free T-shirt.
Interested donors may sign up during between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, through Thursday, Jan. 24, on the first floor of the Student Union, or online by visiting http://www.esavealifenow.org/ and using the code NWMSU.
Student Senate blood drives are coordinated with the Community Blood Center, which is the sole supplier of St. Francis Hospital in Maryville. It is estimated three lives are saved with every unit collected.
The Student Senate’s fall blood drive collected a record 268 units of blood. That total broke Northwest’s previous record set during a 2010 Student Senate blood drive that also earned the Community Blood Center’s Largest Blood Drive Award.
