Northwest Missouri State University students are invited to register for the fourth annual Bearcat Leadership Training (BLT) conference, Jan 25-26, 2013.
The free conference – with this year’s theme of “#YOLO, You Only Lead Once” – features keynote speakers and a variety of leadership workshops. The conference is open to all Northwest students and organizational advisors interested in enhancing their leadership skills. Session topics will include time management, goal setting, finance, teamwork and effective meetings.
Conference sessions will be 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, and 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 26, on the third floor of the J.W. Jones Student Union.
The conference is free to attend, but registration is limited. The registration deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013. The first 100 students to register will receive a free gift. Individuals may register by clicking this link.
Additionally, BLT features a case-study competition with an opportunity to win cash prizes. For the competition, two participants will be paired randomly and provided a case study one week prior to the conference. The participants must then work together to provide a creative solution to the case. Participants may sign up for the case study competition as part of their conference registration, however spots in the contest are limited.
The Northwest Office of Campus Activities also is seeking faculty and staff members interested in presenting at Bearcat Leadership Training. Presentation should last about 45 minutes, and topics should be connected to the principles of servant leadership. Past topics have included social justice, time management and meditation. Interested presenters may submit topic ideas electronically by clicking here.
