Facility Services announces office moves due to restructuring

Northwest Missouri State University Facility Services completed a reorganization, restructuring and consolidation of offices and functions during the summer.

The Landscape Services Building, located on the northwest side of campus near the Materials Distribution Center, is now the Facility Services Building. It houses the administrative offices of Facility Services as well as the custodial staff and energy manager. This building also houses the Service Response Center, where all requests for keys, FOBs, vehicles and work orders are handled.

The Maintenance Shops Building, also located on the northwest side of campus near the Materials Distribution Center, is now known as the Facility Services Maintenance Shop and houses the maintenance team as well as the capital program management team, formerly known as design and construction. The Facility Services contact number for work orders, key requests, and vehicle reservations is ext. 1183.

In an ongoing effort to evaluate efficiencies and reduce costs, the cleaning frequencies have been assessed and the cleaning services within all private and individual offices will be completed two days a week, on Tuesday and Friday. Custodians will perform main cleaning and spot cleaning of floors, general spot cleaning of walls, doors, glass doors and glass partitions as well as empty and clean waste paper baskets and reline where necessary. All other areas within buildings on campus will remain on a five-day-a-week cleaning frequency.

Custodial Services shall continue to unlock buildings, and upon completion of their cleaning routines they will lock all doors and windows to individual offices, all labs and classrooms.

Dave Bridge, director of Facility Services, said the moves allow Facility Services to be better organized and increase efficiencies.
