The members of Northwest Missouri State University’s American Marketing Association will sponsor their annual trick-or-treat for canned goods to benefit the Maryville Ministry Center, Thursday, Oct. 25.
Students will travel door-to-door from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. to collect donations. Canned goods also may be brought to the Ministry Center at 7:30 p.m.
Additionally, students will collect items from departments on the Northwest campus. Departments interested in donating goods should have their items ready for a student to gather.
All Northwest students are invited to join AMA for the event. The group will gather at Colden Pond at 4:30 p.m. and trick-or-treating routes will be distributed.
This year, the group hopes to break its record by collecting more than 2,400 pounds of canned goods.
"Trick-or-Treat for Canned Goods is important for students and residents to take part in because it is our opportunity to give back to the community,” AMA Public Relations Chair Jordan Paul said. “Maryville is a close-knit community and the residents support Northwest Missouri State University in many different ways, so this is our chance to support them and help out anyone we can.”
The Ministry Center is in need of the following items:
