Bearcat Restoration is canceled for Sunday, Oct. 7, due to inclement weather.
The Student Senate at Northwest Missouri State University invites all members of the University community to participate in a new series of service projects aimed at assisting the city of Maryville and its residents.
Student Senate’s Civic Service Committee will sponsor the first of the service projects, called Bearcat Restoration, from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7. The project on West First Street will entail repainting a resident’s home.
Participants are invited to gather in the parking lot outside the J.W. Jones Student Union at 12:45 p.m. All participants will receive a T-shirt.
“This project is a way to bring our campus and the community together,” said Tori Cantrell, the co-chair of Student Senate’s Civic Service Committee. “We want to help those in the community because they are so helpful to us.”
Cantrell said Bearcat Restoration will consist of biweekly service projects throughout the community with the next event scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 21.
