Nominations sought for Homecoming parade grand marshal

The Northwest Missouri State University Homecoming committee is seeking nominations for its 2012 Homecoming parade grand marshal.

Northwest students, employees and friends are invited to submit nominations for people who exemplify what it means to be a Bearcat by clicking this link. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10.

Past grand marshals have included Northwest President Dr. John Jasinski and his family; Irma Merrick, a Northwest graduate and longtime employee; and the late Jean Jennings Bartik, a 1945 graduate who became a computing pioneer. Dr. Patrick Harr, a volunteer physician for Northwest athletics teams, was named 2011 grand marshal.

Nominees are selected based upon their contributions to Northwest, their connection to the University and their Bearcat spirit.

Northwest's 2012 Homecoming week, "Superheroes & Villains," will be Oct. 28 through Nov. 4 and will feature athletic events, entertainment and more. Events are open to all Northwest students, alumni, employees, families, friends and community members.
