Clarence Green, police chief at Northwest Missouri State University, has been selected to represent the Central Division of the Western District of Missouri on the Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee (LECC) Executive Committee.
The committee consists of law enforcement professionals from across the district charged with helping to direct the LECC program. The committee meets quarterly and at an annual conference. Additionally, each division hosts quarterly information and intelligence sharing meetings.
Green’s appointment to the committee will last four years.
“I am excited about the opportunity to serve the Northwest Region,” he said. “I look forward to assisting with training, development and communications. My goal is to understand the challenges that we face in our region and help communicate across and up the resources needed to better serve communities from a law enforcement perspective.”
Green joined Northwest in 1996 and was named the University’s police chief in 1999. In that role, he oversees the University Police Department and Emergency Management. He also is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and currently serves as Northwest’s interim vice president of human resources.
Green received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northwest and holds several law enforcement and emergency management certifications.
