Governor appoints Dorrel to Northwest Board of Regents

Gov. Jay Nixon has announced his appointment of Francis "Gene" Dorrel (R), of Maryville, to the Northwest Missouri State University Board of Regents.
Dorrel's appointment was confirmed by the Senate Feb. 7, 2013. He fills the Board seat of Rachelle Brown, whose term expired.
The Governor has appointed Dorrel for a term ending Jan. 1, 2017.
Dorrel, 1976 graduate of Northwest, has been general manager of United Electric Cooperative in Maryville and Savannah since 1990. He has served on several boards including as chairman of the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives' Legislative and Government Relations Committee and as president of the Nodaway County Economic Development Corporation.
The Board of Regents is responsible for sound resource management of the University and determining general, educational and financial policies.
