Holt receives citizenship award from Leadership Northwest Missouri

Steve Holt, director of the Northwest Missouri State University Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) in Chillicothe, was recognized June 20 with the Leadership Northwest Missouri Citizenship Award in honor of his work to foster community service and mentor future leaders in the region.
The award is presented annually to a northwest Missourian who promotes appreciation of the rights and responsibilities of citizenship and nurtures a volunteer spirit, among other attributes.
Holt serves as co-chairman of Leadership Northwest Missouri’s board of directors. Leadership Northwest Missouri is a nonprofit organization that helps community members enhance their leadership skills, look at issues in a regional context and build a network of regional contacts. The Northwest SBTDC provides free and confidential consulting to for-profit businesses in 17 counties, consisting of Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Caldwell, Carroll, Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, Platte and Worth. In addition to its Chillicothe center, the SBTDC operates its main office at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) on the Northwest campus and a third office in St. Joseph.
