Two camps will take place on the Northwest Missouri State University campus this summer to help middle and high school students develop their dance and musical talents.
The Middle School Band Camp Sunday, June 17, through Friday, June 22, will give campers the opportunity to take lessons on the instrument of their choice, classes on music theory and composition, and play in a band composed of other campers. The experience culminates in a concert featuring all of the campers at the end of the week.
The camp costs $385 for campers who will live on the Northwest campus during the week or $325 for day-campers. The deadline for payment is Friday, May 25. For more information, contact Dr. Doug Overmier at 660.562.1794 or email@example.com.
Northwest also will host a marching band auxiliary camp, sponsored by Plano, Texas-based MA Dance, Sunday, July 15, through Tuesday, July 17. The camp is designed for dance and drill teams, twirlers, drum majors and other auxiliary groups; it will offer a wide range of instruction on performance routines, technical instruction and leadership training. For more information or to register, go to madance.com.
In addition, Northwest will host a variety of athletics camps throughout, beginning in June and continuing through August. For more information on specific athletics camps, go to www.bearcatsportscamps.com.
