April 20, 2012
Diane Cudworth, a senior graphic design major from St. Joseph, submitted the winning entry for the 2012 “Take the Challenge” Computer User's Guide Cover Art Contest at Northwest Missouri State University.
Cudworth’s design will be featured on the front cover of the 2012-2013 Computer User's Guide, which has a distribution of about 1,700 and is given to all new freshmen.
Cudworth will have her name listed in the acknowledgements section of the guide and on its back cover. She also will receive a prize package that includes a certificate of accomplishment and an 8-gigabyte USB pen drive. She will receive two cover flats and two finished copies of the guide for her professional portfolio.
Thirteen Northwest students competed in the annual cover art contest, which is sponsored by the Office of Information Systems in cooperation with the Center for Information and Technology in Education (CITE) and the Department of Fine Arts.
The submissions were critiqued and voted on by a panel of judges that included representatives from the fine arts and information systems departments, CITE and the Office of University Relations.
The annual contest seeks to draw attention to the User's Guide, which provides students with information about campus computing resources, guidelines and policies. In addition, the contest gives students an opportunity to add professional design experience to their portfolio and resume.
