The Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority at Northwest Missouri State University is raising funds to benefit the Special Olympics with a pancake breakfast Saturday, March 10.
Tickets to the “Special Olympic House of Pancakes,” or SOHOP, event are $5 and may be purchased from any Alpha Sigma Alpha member or at the door of the event.
The sorority members will prepare the pancakes, along with sausage, eggs and bacon. Fresh fruit and beverages also will be provided.
The breakfast will be 8 a.m. to noon in Bearcat Arena. All proceeds will go to Special Olympics, one of the sorority’s philanthropies.
“This is our chance to do something for others, and we’re asking our friends and family from the Bearcat community to join us for a huge pancake breakfast,” Alpha Sigma Alpha President Mel Peitzmeier said. “We do this each year because it is not only something we absolutely enjoy doing, but it allows us to give back to Special Olympics, which we hold near and dear to our hearts.”
