Northwest Missouri State University will host its annual Career Day from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the Lamkin Activity Center, giving potential candidates the opportunity to interact with more than 100 employers offering full-time, summer and internship positions.

Additionally, Northwest’s Graduate Information Fair coincides with the event, giving students an opportunity to visit with representatives from a wide variety of graduate schools and professional programs. The Graduate Information Fair will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Lamkin.

The event is free and open to the public; all majors are welcome. Attending individuals should dress professionally.

Employers attending this year’s Career Day represent an array of industries. Representatives are visiting Northwest on behalf of Boys Town, C.H. Robinson, Farmers Insurance Group, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Nodaway Broadcasting and PlattForm Advertising, among others.

Northwest’s Career Services’ website includes a complete list of registered employers and graduate schools. The website also offers preparatory materials including resume and cover letter writing guides, interview tips, and instructional videos, ranging in topics from “How to Attend a Northwest Career Day” to self-marketing and networking skills.

Tools such as these have assisted Northwest in achieving a 93 percent placement rate. This means 93 percent of Northwest undergraduates are employed or continue their education within six months of graduation.
