Northwest Missouri State University’s Student Senate hopes to increase interactions with students during a series of activities its calling Senate Week, Feb. 27 through March 3.
Student Senate President Andrew Maddux said the Senate Week will offer students opportunities to learn about how the Senate serves Northwest students.
“The goal of Senate Week is to increase student involvement and interactions, while celebrating Senate’s proud 89-year-history,” Maddux said. “Feedback helps fulfill Senate’s mission of representing students’ interests in times of tough decisions.
The week’s events include a free movie night at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the Charles Johnson Theater. Senate will show “Accepted” and serve popcorn.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in the J.W. Jones Student Union, students are invited to a Senate social. Senate will serve free hot dogs, chips and water.
Student Senate represents Northwest’s more than 7,200 students and consists of 29 elected students who represent an array of constituencies. For more information, visit www.nwsenate.com.
