The Society of President’s Scholars and the Honors Program at Northwest Missouri State University are again joining forces to sponsor the Celebration of Quality, an interdisciplinary symposium spotlighting exceptional student work throughout campus.
Students are invited to submit their work for the symposium by Monday, March 12. It is open to all Missouri Academy, undergraduate and graduate students and may include work done either this trimester or any time during the previous year.
The 2012 Celebration of Quality Student Symposium is 3 to 8 p.m. April 10-11 in the J.W. Jones Student Union. The symposium gives the Northwest community an opportunity to see what students are doing across disciplines, and it gives participating students an audience beyond the classroom.
In the past, students have presented creative writing as well as original research and analytical papers. They have given speeches and conducted panel discussions. They have displayed original works of art and visual summaries of their projects in science, education and business. They have presented dramatic readings and played or analyzed music.
Students may register by clicking here. Applications may also be downloaded from the website and submitted via campus mail, e-mail or in person to Tom Spencer, director of the Honors Program, at Tspence@nwmissouri.edu or Jenny Rytting, sponsor of the Society of President’s Scholars, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
