Follow Northwest commencement with live stream, social media
Graduates along with their families and friends are invited to take to social media to participate in Northwest Missouri State University’s winter commencement ceremony Friday, Dec. 16, and the general public can watch the ceremony live via an online video stream.
The live video stream begins at 1 p.m. on the day of the ceremony and can be viewed at www.nwmissouri.edu/live.
In addition, graduates and their families may share their graduation memories on Twitter by using the hashtag #nw11. Graduates and family members may submit their photos of the ceremony to the Northwest Flickr feed by taking pictures with their mobile phones and sending them to email@example.com. Submitted photos will appear immediately on Northwest’s Flickr page at www.flickr.com/photos/nwmostate/.
Northwest’s winter commencement ceremony takes place in Bearcat Arena. Doors open to guests at noon. Shuttle service will be provided from the parking lot west of the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts to the circle drive in front of the Lamkin Activity Center. Due to the number of graduates, tickets are required for admission to the ceremony.
Jeff Borchardt, Northwest alumnus and president and chief executive officer of the Kansas City Board of Trade, will address the University’s graduates and their families during the ceremony.
More than 330 undergraduate students from Northwest's three colleges are expected to receive bachelor's degrees. More than 100 candidates are expected to receive master's degrees or education specialist degrees through the University's graduate school.
Candidates for graduation may pick up caps and gowns at the Student Services Center on the first floor of the Administration Building from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, through Thursday, Dec. 15, or 8 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16.
