With its Project Holiday Hope campaign, Northwest Missouri State University is again asking the Northwest and Maryville communities to donate items that will help less fortunate individuals keep warm this winter.
Beginning Monday, Nov. 7, the University is accepting donations of new or gently used blankets, adult-sized gloves or mittens and hats. The collection drive will end in conjunction with the Holiday Tree Lighting at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the Thomas J. Gaunt House.
Donations may be left in marked yellow collection bins located in the J.W. Jones Student Union or the Administration Building. Additionally, fans may bring donations to any one of three Bearcat athletic contests – the Nov. 8 volleyball match at 7 p.m. in Bearcat Arena, the Nov. 12 football game at 1 p.m. in Bearcat Stadium or the Nov. 15 men’s basketball game at 7 p.m. in Bearcat Arena.
Last year, Northwest collected nearly 400 clothing items during the month-long collection drive. The collected items are distributed by the Maryville Ministry Center.
