Honor society collecting food donations for Ministry Center

The Northwest Missouri State University chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars will collect non-perishable food items at the University's Homecoming football game to be donated to the Maryville Ministry Center.

Members of the student group will be standing by to collect items at the main gate of Bearcat Stadium, beginning an hour before kickoff. The collection will continue until the end of the first quarter. The Bearcat football team will take on Washburn in the Homecoming football game; kickoff is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22.

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is an honor society dedicated to service at the University and in the Maryville community. The organization accepts all interested freshman and sophomore students who have a grade-point average above 3.4 and ranked in the top 20 percent of their high school class.
