With a new school year brings new opportunities for community involvement, and Northwest Missouri State University students will team up again this year for variety of service projects throughout Maryville.
The University's annual fall BRUSH event is set Saturday, Sept. 17. Students are invited to meet at the Wesley Student Center to participate in either of two shifts, from 8 a.m. to noon or noon to 4 p.m. A lunch of pizza and water will be provided.
This year, volunteers will complete yard work, scraping and painting at three properties: 110 W. Jenkins, 421 S. Hester and 327 E. Eighth St.
Sign-up forms should be completed and submitted by 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, to the volunteer office, located in the Office of Intercultural Affairs on the second floor of the J.W. Jones Student Union. Download the form here.
BRUSH, or Beautifying Residences Using Student Help, was launched in 2004 and gives Northwest students opportunities to work on landscaping, painting and other home improvement projects.
