MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State University's Blue Key and Cardinal Key honor societies honored students for their academic achievements and community involvement Friday by naming this year's Tower King and Queen.
Laura Yeager, a senior speech and organizational communications major from Omaha, Neb., was named Tower Queen, and Quentin Templeton, a senior business management major from Kearney, was named Tower King.
Yeager serves as executive director of Up ‘til Dawn and secretary of Mortar Board. She also is a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha, Blue Key Honor Society and Order of Omega. She was sponsored by the men of Phi Sigma Kappa.
Templeton serves as Student Senate president, a Millikan Hall academic resource consultant, National Residence Hall Honorary past president and a Millikan Hall Council advisor. He also is a member of Delta Mu Delta, Alpha Chi National Honorary Society, Blue Key Honor Society, and he is an Eagle Scout. He was sponsored by the ladies of Alpha Sigma Alpha.
The Tower King and Queen annually honors a Northwest male and female student who excels academically and exhibits high involvement at the University and in the Maryville community. Individuals are nominated by on-campus organizations and the king and queen are then chosen by the student body.
