MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State University has announced Mary Collins will begin serving as the University's controller later this month.
Collins will fulfill the duties of Dan Edmonds, who is retiring at the end of the academic year.
She has been employed since 1999 in a variety of capacities at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, most recently as clinical decision support coordinator. Prior to her tenure at Heartland, she was the accountant for Eckard's Home Improvement and was an accounting instructor at Northwest.
Collins received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Northwest in 1995 and a master's of business administration with an accounting emphasis from Northwest in 1997.
She also was a member of the Northwest women's basketball team from 1991 to 1995.
"I am thrilled to come ‘home' and contribute to the financial stability of Northwest Missouri State University," Collins said. "I am encouraged by the knowledge and years of experience of the staff and look forward to leading them through process improvements to further enhance their current levels of service."
Collins resides in Conception Junction with her husband, Dan, and three children, Malia, Maggie and Bo.
