Reservations accepted for Tourin’ Bearcats’ trip to Virginia Triangle
MARYVILLE, Mo. - A getaway to Virginia's Historic Triangle, including stops in Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg and Yorktown, is the next trip offered by the Tourin' Bearcats.
The Northwest Alumni Association-sponsored trip, which is open to the public, is Oct. 28-30. The cost is $899 per person, based on double occupancy, and includes round trip airfare from Kansas City.
Trip highlights include daily tours with a professional guide, including a tour of Berkeley Plantation, Jamestown Settlement, which is an interactive living history museum, a tour of Colonial Williamsburg and a tour of Yorktown Victory Center, where in 1781 a decisive battle of the War for American Independence took place. The trip cost also includes two nights at the Williamsburg Hospitality House, a full breakfast buffet each morning, one noon meal and two evening meals, including one at a traditional colonial Williamsburg tavern.
"The Tourin' Bearcats travel program is a great way for friends of Northwest to connect with fellow Bearcats," said Steve Sutton, Northwest's director of alumni relations. "We've received excellent feedback from those who have participated in our past trips, and often have travelers who have joined us on several getaways. We're also happy to take care of the travel arrangements for our guests so they can enjoy their vacation."
Recent Tourin' Bearcats adventures include trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Colorado and San Antonio, and a group of 40 Bearcats will enjoy a Rhine River Cruise later this month.
Reservations for the trip to Virginia's Historic Triangle, with a $125 deposit, are due May 25, and final payment is due by Aug. 25. Checks should be made out to Cotter Travel and mailed to Northwest Missouri State University, Alumni House, 800 University Dr., Maryville, MO 64468.
