MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State University announces the naming of Teresa Gustafson and Mitzi Craft to lead the development/alumni and the marketing/communication divisions of University Advancement, respectively, on an interim basis.
The pair assume the duties held by Orrie Covert, who recently accepted the role of assistant vice president of development at the University of Florida.
Gustafson will provide vision, strategic direction and management to the Office of University Advancement, which is responsible for fundraising as well as donor and alumni relations and will continue her role as director of strategic donor development.
"Teresa has proven to be an effective leader with a robust understanding of Northwest's needs in terms of fundraising and alumni relations," said Northwest President Dr. John Jasinski. "While she has indicated she is solely interested in the interim position, her guidance of the University Advancement area is critical as we seek to fill the position and prepare for the launching of our institution's next capital campaign."
Craft will provide vision, strategic direction and management to marketing, communication and KXCV-KRNW and continue her role as the University's chief public relations officer.
"Mitzi has done an outstanding job as chief public relations officer and has bridged marketing, alumni relations and internal communications needs," Jasinski said. "Her ability to move our communications platform forward will be key as we continue through a period of response to budget cuts and tell our impressive stories of student and overall institutional success."
Northwest is in the process of assembling a search committee for the vice president of university advancement position.
