Bearcats to compete in first NCAA Division II Elite Eight women’s tournament; alumni, fans invited to send-off
MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Bearcat women's basketball team continues its stellar season with its first trip to the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Division II NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. The Bearcats face Cal Poly Pomona at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at the St. Joseph Civic Arena, located at 100 N. Fourth St. in St. Joseph.
Join Bearcat fans and alumni for a send-off at the team's hotel, a gathering prior to the game and then at the arena. Here are the details:
The Northwest cheerleaders, Steppers and Bearcat Marching Band will perform at a pep rally at the team's hotel, Drury Inn and Suites, 4213 Frederick Blvd., in St. Joseph, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, prior to the team's departure for the Civic Arena. Bring the family, and let the team know we're all proud to be Bearcats!
The Northwest Alumni Association is hosting family-friendly activities before each Bearcat game in the tournament.
Prior to Tuesday's game, Bearcat fans of all ages can gather beginning at 5 p.m. at Boudreaux's, located two blocks from the Civic Arena at 224 N. Fourth St. in St. Joseph. Appetizers will be provided as well as a cash bar. Look for the green and white!
Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster, by calling the St. Joseph Civic Arena at 816.271.4717 or in person at the St. Joseph Civic Arena Box Office.

While Tuesday's quarterfinal games will not be televised, basketball fans can watch Wednesday's semifinal games on ESPNU and the championship game on ESPN2.
