MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Phi Beta Sigma fraternity and Student Senate at Northwest Missouri State University are sponsoring the First Lady of Phi Beta Sigma Scholarship Pageant and Dinner Thursday, March 17.
The event begins with a dinner at 6:30 p.m. in the Lamkin Activity Center. The pageant begins at 8 p.m. in the Charles Johnson Theater.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. They can be purchased from any member of Phi Beta Sigma or in the Student Senate office on the second floor of the J.W. Jones Student Union.
Six Northwest students were selected to compete after a registration and interview process. The contestants are Apiphanie Lujan, Montoya Lucas, Arlanda Watson, Ariana Simmons, Michelle Castillo and Andrea Goering.
Contestants will be judged on things including an introduction, personality, a swimwear competition and a scholarship question. The judging panel will consist of Northwest students and faculty.
The winner receives a cash prize and advances to represent Northwest in the Southwestern Region Miss Phi Beta Sigma Pageant April 8 in Omaha, Neb.
