MARYVILLE, Mo. - Dr. John Gallaher, associate professor of English at Northwest Missouri State University, is the co-author of "Your Father on the Train of Ghosts" an extensive collaboration of American poetry.
Over the course of a year, Gallaher and acclaimed poet G.C. Waldrep exchanged poems, sometimes up to five or six a day. As the collaboration deepened, a third "voice" emerged that neither poet can claim as solely their own.
The book, to be published in May by BOA Editions Ltd., is available at local bookstores or online at www.boaeditions.org/bookstore.
Gallaher has authored several books of poetry, including "Gentlemen in Turbans," "Ladies in Cauls" (Spuyten Duyvil, 2001), "The Little Book of Guesses" (Four Way Books Levis Poetry Prize, 2007), and "Map of the Folded World" (University of Akron Press, forthcoming). His recent poems also appear in "Field, Colorado Review, New American Writing," and "The Best American Poetry 2008." He co-edits "The Laurel Review" at Northwest.
