Northwest President Dr. John Jasinski statement issued the following statement today on Missouri system President Gary Forsee's resignation
The higher education community and indeed the entire state stands behind the Forsee family. Gary has been a tremendous advocate for higher education's importance to the current and long-term prospects of this state. He has led presidents to think more collaboratively - both in the classroom and in support operations - and has been a leader in showing higher education is accountable and efficient. He rightfully and eloquently has discussed how higher education community has increased productivity over the last decade without concomitant funding. Gary, like all good leaders, has left the University of Missouri System and indeed the state higher education system in better condition than when he entered.
I, for one, will miss conversations with Gary on how a higher educated citizenry enhances a state's ability to be competitive, how leaders lead and what we can do to better provide a robust message on higher education's impact on our communities. He will be missed.
