Northwest hosting three great events leading to Saturday's exciting football game

MARYVILLE, Mo. - Thanks to another thrilling victory last weekend, the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcat football team advances to the quarterfinals of the playoffs Saturday and is one step closer to bringing home its fourth NCAA Division II national championship.

Next up: the Mules of Central Missouri. Kickoff at Bearcat Stadium is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4. Tickets are available for purchase in person at the Student Services Center on the first floor of the Administration Building, by calling 660.562.1212, or online.

On Friday, the University is encouraging all Bearcat fans to show their Northwest pride by wearing green. Then, on Saturday, Northwest fans may want to arrive early to participate in free pregame activities at the Alumni House, College Park and the Gaunt House.

All Bearcat fans are invited from 10 a.m. to noon to a holiday open house at the Gaunt House. Located on College Avenue, the historic structure on the south edge of campus serves as the presidential residence.

The Northwest Alumni Association Social will be 10 a.m. to noon at the Alumni House. Complimentary Chris Cakes pancakes and sausage and beverages will be served. Guests may also purchase Northwest gear from the Bearcat Bookstore.

Fans also are invited to College Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the Bearcat Zone. The tailgate activities will include live performances by R.P.I., the Bearcat Marching Band, the Bearcat Steppers and the Northwest Cheerleaders. The event also will feature plenty of activities for the kids, including face painting and an inflatable obstacle course. The Northwest Alumni Association will offer complimentary coffee and hot chocolate. Tailgate food and Northwest gear will be available for purchase.

Fans unable to make the game can watch a free web stream , listen to the Bearcat Radio Network or follow the game online. In addition, Metro Sports will televise the game in the Kansas City area.
