MARYVILLE, Mo. - The B.D. Owens Library is encouraging Northwest Missouri State University undergraduate students to utilize its resources for research and reflection during its 5th annual library research contest.
Papers or projects submitted for the contest must be for a 200 or higher level course during the 2010 spring, summer or fall trimesters. Papers must be eight to 20 pages, not counting bibliography pages, with the student's last name on each page.
Papers must have consistent use of any citation style listed on the Owens Library's " Citing Sources" resource. Also, about 75 percent of the sources must be from Owens Library databases , in-house collection , MOBIUS or interlibrary loan.
Students must include an e-mail verification or recommendation from the professor of the course and agree to contribute the paper to the library's Research Contest Digital Collection.
Authors of the top research papers or projects will receive Wal-mart gift certificates valued at $200 for first place, $150 for second place and $100 for third place.
The deadline to submit papers is 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011.
