Northwest to host workshop about early childhood literacy
MARYVILLE, Mo. - The public is invited to the "Early Literacy Activities to Add to Your Repertoire" workshop Tuesday, Nov. 30, in the B.D. Owens Library, Room 250 at Northwest Missouri State University.
Presented by Connie Ury, Owens Library outreach coordinator, and Mary Jane Stiens, librarian at Northwest's Horace Mann Laboratory School and Early Care and Education Laboratory Center, the workshop is intended for parents of preschool and early childhood children, preschool teachers, librarians and students planning to teach at the early childhood or preschool level.
There will be two sessions from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Stiens and Ury will share a wide range of resources including copies of pre-literacy activities, access to web-site listings, a bibliography of resources and hands-on time to explore and create materials.
