Northwest literature class to host evening of English country dancing

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The public is invited to celebrate Regency England during an evening of English country dancing, Friday, Nov. 12, in Martindale Gymnasium at Northwest Missouri State University.

The free event is being sponsored by Northwest's advanced British literature class, Jane Austen and Her Literary Sisters, led by Dr. Jennifer Rytting, assistant professor of English.

Dance instruction with Northwest student and dance caller Jerome Grisanti will be from 7 to 7:30 p.m. with dancing from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Refreshments also will be available.

Only athletic shoes with no black soles or ballet slippers will be permitted on the gym floor. Participants are welcome to dress in costumes.
