MARYVILLE, Mo. - What do you get when you cross world-ranked step dancing with champion fiddling and a family of nine? The answer is: A high-powered energetic and refreshing experience with the Hunt Family.

The Hunt Family, of Chesapeake, Va., brings its brand of original, Celtic, bluegrass, inspirational and popular tunes to Northwest Missouri State University Thursday, Nov. 4. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Mary Linn Auditorium of the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts.

Tickets are available for $25 for adult orchestra, $23 for adult balcony $15 for student orchestra and $13 for student balcony. Tickets can be reserved online or by calling 660.562.1226.

"Having The Hunt Family as a part of the 2010-2011 Encore Series is really a treat!" Director of Campus Activities Angel McAdams Prescott said. " This year's series was designed with families in mind. Providing the arts to your family can sometimes be expensive. But our series strives to make a night out at the theater affordable and readily available to the Maryville area. This performance will be non-stop energy and something kids and adults of all ages will enjoy."

The Hunt Family offers a unique blend of diversity in each show. In addition to fiddling and step dancing, the family plays guitar, bass, keys, drums and mandolin.

The Hunts have toured throughout the United States and internationally. They performed for Queen Elizabeth's royal welcoming, entertained audiences for three years on four main stages at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, made multiple appearances at the World Championships of Irish step dancing in Scotland and Ireland, and debuted on the Tony Danza show.
