Northwest Homecoming parade route changes
MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State University is reminding the public of changes to its Homecoming parade, which will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30.
The Homecoming parade will start at the corner of Ray and College avenues and proceed east toward the main University entrance at Fourth Street. The parade will continue across Main Street to the Maryville square and then turn north on Market Street. The parade route ends at Fourth and Market streets.
Bleacher-seating will be located at the corner of Munn and College avenues, College Avenue near Colden Pond, and College Avenue and Fourth Street near the campus's main entrance. Additionally, blanket seating will be at the grassy area at the corner of College Avenue and University Drive. Guests must bring their own blankets.
Bleacher seating and blanket seating areas are designated family-friendly viewing areas.
There will be four performance spots along the route at the grand stand near the corner of College Avenue and University Drive, the corner of Walnut and Fourth streets, the corner of Mulberry and Fourth streets, and the square on Fourth Street.
The general public is encouraged to enter campus from Second, Third, Seventh or Ninth streets and walk to their desired viewing location.
Northwest is celebrating its 2010 Homecoming week, "Blast From the Past," Oct. 24-31. Events are open to all Northwest students, alumni, faculty, staff, families, friends and community members. For more information, click here.
